Mama, Everything You Do Has Value
Aug 26, 2026
A quick dose of encouragement for a weary mama's heart
It may not feel like it, but all the things you do matter.
It may not look like you’re making a difference, but you are.
Everything you do to care for your family is valuable.
From remembering the names and backstories they made up for their stuffed animals to the names and backstories of their new friend,
From cutting the crust off their bread to preparing a favorite meal when they needed cheering up, you offer priceless treasure.
Maintaining order and rhythm in your days so they feel stable,
The late-night care when they vomited in their bed,
The prayer you prayed when they were going through hell,
Being present when they wanted to talk,
Saying yes to the play-date,
It’s all immeasurably valuable.
Sure, they love you for it, but you don’t always get the thanks you deserve. You don’t hear the words your heart longs to hear.
But that doesn't mean they do not appreciate and value you.
It means you do everything so well and consistently that they assume it's easy.
To them, you make it look as natural and easy as saying hello or good morning.
They don’t know it takes tremendous effort and intention to do all that you do.
They’re absorbed in their own little worlds.
Think about that the next time you feel unappreciated. Your children and husband think you’re amazing and value everything you do.
You are the constant they rely on.
The truth?
You are deeply valued.
